Abstract

This article presents a detailed study and analysis of the dress-poems (robes-poèmes) by Sonia Delaunay (1922-1923), a clear example of avant-garde creation based on the synthesis of painting and poetry. We procure a detailed compilation of these dress-poems, as well as the transcription and authorship of the poems included in them. Throughout the article the dresspoems are analyzed from a gender perspective. They are linked, thus, to a notion of avant-garde art committed to the idea of the fusion of art and vital praxis; and, consequently, the role played in this field by the women artists of the avant-gardes is compared to that played by their male colleagues.
