Abstract
The article analyzes the evolution of Israel’s strategic thought since its conception in 1948 until the 2006 Israeli- Hezbollah war, a conflict which not only revealed the erosion of Israel’s model of citizen-soldier, the inadequacies of its traditional strategic paradigm to the new regional environment and the operational limitations of the Israel’s Defense Forces (IDF) when countering asymmetric and hybrid threats; but also exposed the changing face of war.
