Abstract

This monographic issue offers an in-depth and multifaceted examination of rage from an intersectional perspective. It delves into the dual nature of this emotion which simultaneously serves as a driving force and constraining element, both inspiring and limiting individuals. The articles and video essays that form this volume rigorously interrogate who the subjects of rage are and how they are discursively constructed, while also scrutinizing its impact on feminism. They inquire into why some expressions of rage gain political traction while others are rejected, and they undertake a critical analysis of the strategies employed
to disembody rage and overcome its pathologization. They also ask how to challenge the heteropatriarchal
norms of neoliberalism. The richness of the diversity of formats allows for a thorough investigation of the
narratives of rage, thereby shedding light on its transformative potential and the complexities surrounding its expression within the context of activism.

Diana Fernández Romero, Rey Juan Carlos University

Profesora Titular de Periodismo en la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Dirige y participa en proyectos de investigación sobre violencia de género desde una aproximación multidisciplinar que abarca los discursos digitales, los procesos de victimización, la mediatización de la rabia femenina, la representación de la trata en el espacio público o la construcción subjetiva de la feminidad en el medio rural. Ha realizado estancias de investigación en universidades de California, Londres, Berlín, Milán, Bolonia, Oporto o Lisboa. Codirige el Título Propio Especialista en Prevención y sensibilización de las violencias sexuales y de género desde un enfoque multidisciplinar. Dirige el Grupo de Innovación Docente a través de la imagen por la Igualdad de Género.

Barbara Zecchi, University of Massachusetts Amherst (EEUU)

Barbara Zecchi, Professor of Film Studies  (area of Visual and Performance Studies, Spanish and Portuguese Program), Dept. of Languages Literatures and Cultures, and Director of the Film Studies Program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, is a feminist film scholar, film critic, film festival curator, and video-essayist. She has published and lectured extensively on European and Latin American cinemas, women filmmakers, feminist film theory, adaptation theory, gender and ageing studies, videographic criticism, and the use of technology in the humanities. Since 2016 she has served as Associate Member of The Film Academy of Spain (Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España).
