Spinoza and Republicanism

Abstract
In this paper we analyze the relationship of Spinoza’s political thought in the tradition of republican thought. This is, we argue, a relationship so conspicuously ignored in recent reconstructions of republicanism (in which Spinoza receives only marginal mention) and Spinoza criticism that while it has been widely held, especially in the last decades, Spinoza’s political thought has not be investigated its connections with republicanism.Format
