Abstract

This study analyzes the evolution of the scientific production of the public universities that make up the Research Network on Science and Technology for the Andes (RICTA) between 2019 and 2024. Using a quantitative descriptive-bibliometric methodology, 2,320 scientific publications indexed in the Scopus database were examined, considering variables such as annual volume of publications, thematic areas, documentary type, language, collaboration networks and RENACYT classification of research professors. The results show a sustained and statistically significant growth trend (R² = 0.947; p < 0.01), with institutionalized universities accounting for 73.9% of the total production, especially in areas such as Agricultural Sciences, Medicine and Social Sciences. The universities with an Organizing Committee, although with a lower volume, show emerging specialization processes, particularly in technological disciplines. Scientific articles predominate as the main means of dissemination (74.1%), mostly written in English (more than 65%), which reveals an orientation towards internationalization. Likewise, a progressive articulation with organizations such as CONCYTEC, CNPq and UKRI was identified, and a concentration of research talent at the higher levels of RENACYT. It is concluded that, despite institutional asymmetries, the RICTA network is consolidating its research function, contributing significantly to the Peruvian scientific ecosystem, and it is recommended that differentiated policies to promote research, with a territorial and sustainability approach, be strengthened
