Abstract

An approach to the notion of island regarding its symbolic connotation and its configuration as a narrative space. Our work will focus on several texts from the medieval Catalonian literary tradition. So, we will have the necessary elements to make a right reading of Bernat Metge’s book Llibre de Fortuna e Prudència, where we will try to understand how the writer can manipulate some medieval commonplaces in order to make an incipient Humanistic discourse.
