Abstract
Aglaja Veteranyi (1962-2002) is an extremely original and interesting character in the history of Swiss literature. As a daughter of Rumanian circus artists she came to Switzerland after long wanderings throughout the world. She was 16 years old and still illiterate. She decided to learn German and devoted herself to the theatre and literature. The relationship with her mother tongue and with her mother as a symbol of her past are at the heart of her works. Here only her narrative texts are analyzed, where the theme of the existential exile forms another important issue, which is related to the above-mentioned subjects.Format
