Abstract
In this work, W. G. Sebald rescues the life stories of four people of Jewish origin who were obliged to travel from southern Germany to various destinations, a forced voyage that also consigns their experience to obscurity. This article sets out an analysis and reflection of how the work articulates the intricate relations between memory, literary discourse and identity.
