Acute Coronary Dissection and Myocardial Infarction Secondary to a Traffic Accident: a Report Case and its Problems in Medical Evaluation Assessment
Abstract
The case is of a 38 year old female without cardiovascular risk factors who suffers eccentric frontal collision while driving a car in the city. The estimated speed at the time of the collision with the other vehicle is approximately 40 km/h. She was initially diagnosed with closed thoracic traumatism, but 8 days after the accident, it was shown that she had an anterior acute infarction. The coronariography shows an acute coronary dissection treated with a stent. The resulting permanent impairment is difficult to adjust to Annex 1 of Law 34/2003. The case also brings up some questions of clinical interest.
