Abstract

In the mid-fifteenth century the Incas incorporated the Bolivian Peruvian highlands into the Tahuantinsuyo from the conquests of Pachacutec, with the objective of taking the main pastoralists economies such as the Collas and Lupacas. As part of this policy of the Cusqueño state in the Kelluyo-Huacullani sector, they incorporate the quadrangular and circular chullpas as a visual and symbolic message of the presence of the new state in the areas near or adjacent to the settlements of the Late Intermediate Period (Lupacas). The systematic survey carried out in 2017 provided us with information on the Lupaca settlement pattern and how the Inca chullpas overlap on this territory.
