The Pottery Work Processes in the Southern Sector of the Eastern Piedmont of Nevado de Laguna Blanca: Archaeological and Ethnographic Evidence
Abstract
This article presents a synthesis of over two decades of research on pottery in Laguna Blanca (Belén, Catamarca, Argentina). From a relational, situated, and engaged perspective, it analyzes the work processes involved in ceramic production, using archaeological and ethnographic information. The methodological approach combined stratigraphic excavations, ceramic analysis, interviews, and participant observation. The results reveal a long, diverse, and continuous history of pottery practices in the region, deeply connected to local ways of life.
