Totzotzintli: Study of the Third Feast of the Twenties in the Codex Tudela
Abstract
This article analyses the third twenty of the set of feasts of Central Mexico, contained in folio 13 of the Codex Tudela. In this work we will start with a contextualization of the document in order to propose an analysis through the use of the scientific method, comparing the images (Libro Indígena) with the texts (Libro Escrito Europeo), previously explained separately. By means of contrast and comparison with relevant chronicles that deal with similar themes (Sahagún, Durán, Motolonía, etc.), as well as through the work of prominent researchers who have approached various aspects of the twenty, we will seek to describe the information contained in the manuscript and its relevance, highlighting the richness, detail and originality of the Codex Tudela and showing how much information remains to be analyzed in its pages.
