Analysis of the development of entrepreneurship-related competencies in university students according to field of knowledge
Abstract
INTRODUCTION: This article analyses the perceptions of university students from various fields of knowledge regarding the development of entrepreneurship-related competencies through project-based learning during their undergraduate studies. METHOD: A quantitative methodological approach was adopted, using an ad hoc questionnaire that assessed the level of agreement of the participants with different indicators related to these competency dimensions. RESULTS: Among the most notable findings, students from the field of Education scored higher in technical and professional competencies compared to those from Engineering, who obtained the lowest scores. The analysis also reveals that, overall, Education students outperform Engineering students in both competencies, while no statistically significant differences were found between the Education and Health groups. DISCUSSION: These findings suggest the need to strengthen the implementation of active methodologies in order to promote the development of entrepreneurship-related competencies by systematically integrating these methodologies into curricula, thus contributing to preparing students to face future professional and societal challenges.
