Palaeolithic and the Transition to the Neolithic in East Asia: Research and teaching issues of the Asian Prehistoric Archaeology

Abstract
This paper highlights some general aspects of archaeological research in East Asia (China, Korea and Japan), such as the differences between the interpretation of Prehistory (focussing, in this case, on Palaeolithic and the transition to the Neolithic) in these countries, as well as national agendas and historiography. The issues of Eurocentric visions when applied to Asian archaeological data, as well as research issues for further academic works, are also highlighted. The analysis undertaken provides insights on subjects related to the ancient history of East Asia, both for teachers and students.
