Abstract

Alexander Skryabin's ideas on music are related to some ideas of Plato and other ancient thinkers. The influence of Schopenhauer, Elena Blavatski, and Indian thought, led Skryabin to conclusions similar to those of some Greek authors (like Plutarch, Iamblichus, Proclus), whose work he doubtfully knew, but whose primary source had been Plato, just like that of Skryabin himself.
