Abstract

This paper conveys a comprehensive study of the reception of the classical tradition in the zarzuela El triunfo de Venus, by Fernández Shaw and Muñoz Seca, paying special attention to the two-fold treatment of mythology: sheer parody and Modernist sublimation.
