Podcast possibilites as strategic instrument for scientific spreading on iVoox plataform

Abstract

Podcast format reports a remarkable growing in the whole action and specialization areas. This article examines its narrative possibilities in scientific spreading field and considers to what extent such spreading can maximize some of this technologye added values, including production cost economy, creative freedom and access simplicity for audiences using all kinds of physical supports. We have proceeded to analyze ten of the most recognized scientific spreading podcasts in Spanish language distributed through iVoox platform based on a technical file that takes into account aspects related to their production entity, start date of distribution, average periodicity, estimated average duration and content structure. In general terms, it is concluded that the podcast is being used harder and harder as a scientific spreading strategic instrument, taking advantage, additionally in the case of those generated in Spain, of the existence of a potential market of almost six hundred million Spanish speaking people.
