Abstract
This article presents a literature review in the field of parliamentary agents' interventions on Twitter, from the multidisciplinary perspective established by Information Science with Social Sciences and Computer Science. It includes 92 studies on political information and communication, which examine the participation of different types of legislators on Twitter, in heterogeneous communication scenarios and outside of electoral periods. In this way, the evolution of referential works in the sociotechnical network developed between 2009 and 2022 is examined, and two fundamental analytical areas are considered: senders and receivers (legislators and citizens) and their interactions, and political debate. The importance of research, the methodological approaches that have been applied, and the techniques and methods for analyzing the performances of parliamentarians on Twitter are shown. Next, some considerations are presented on the development and perspectives of academic research focused on the sociotechnical network, in the field of the Legislative Branch.
