Abstract

Since 1870 the Supreme Court has shaped jurisprudence in criminal law through cassation appeals. Its judgements are rendered by the Second Chamber; however, the figure of the rapporteur is key in their preparation. Antonio Quintano Ripollés, a professor of Criminal law, was one of its judges. Through the judgments in which he intervened as rapporteur, it is possible to discover the evolution of concepts and decision lines of the Court. By comparing such judgments, specifically those treating slander, it is possible to appreciate his influence and the reflection of his scientific works.
