Abstract

Our objective in this paper is to highlight the existence of a motif, the theft of Cupid’s arms, which appears in numerous Neo-Latin epigrams; the beloved takes advantage of a chance encounter with Cupid to seize his characteristic attributes, especially the arrows and the torches.
