Abstract

In his commentary on Aristotle’s Topics Alexander of Aphrodisias (CAG II 2, p. 139,26-140,3 Wallies) refers to Solo as the enactor of a law against neutrality. The law is also mentioned in Aristotle’s Athenaion Politeia, in Plutarch’s Vita Solonis and in some other sources. Through a deep examination of Alexander’s text and of the testimonia we try to emend Wallies’ text.
