Abstract

Thymus villosus, an Iberian endemism from the SW of Portugal and some other populations of the Spanish provinces of Cáceres, Cuidad Real and Toledo is studied. The new subspecies subsp. velascoi R. Morales & G. López, related to the populations of Toledo province is described. A key of identification of the 3 subspecies, a table with the principal characters, a map of distribution, morphological, ecological and chorological information, all the herbarium material studied, and also a recopilation of the chemical studies are included.
