Creative and artistic leisure as a driver of well-being for the elderly:Analysis of the activities of an Active Participation Centre

Abstract

This article analyzes the leisure activities carried out between 2021 and 2024 at an Active Participation Center (CPA) in Bailén (Jaén). It is situated within the framework of healthy aging, which leads institutions to develop initiatives to promote the well-being and social integration of older adults. Special attention is paid to artistic and/or leisure activities developed during this period, evaluating the level of participation and its evolution over time, as well as the level of satisfaction among participants. The descriptive and exploratory study uses satisfaction questionnaires and interviews with professionals about the activities offered by the CPA on a semi-annual basis during the study period. These activities are categorized as artistic or creative, physical, cognitive, and educational/cultural.
