Abstract

The aim of this paper is to complete the existing cataloging and studies on the twelve Quranic manuscripts preserved in the Royal Library of El Escorial. Divided into two groups, Iberian (Andalusi and Mudejar-Morisco) and not Iberian, new data are provided on the origin of this collection, specifically on the Maghrebi origin and its possible relationship with the Saadi royal library of Muley Zaydán of two manuscripts hitherto classified as of uncertain provenance. For this purpose, I will rely on the usual formal arguments (calligraphy, decorations, etc.) but also on arguments of structure and content.
